Further Development at Stadium MK
Simon Ingram, Geoff Willis, Giles Ferin, David Danskin, Marco Mauro and Anna Stillman continue to work on the £100 million plus development of the new Stadium MK, phase 1 of which was completed in mid-2007. Further development of the Stadium will include retail and restaurant developments on the site.
Working with the Stadium team our banking team completed a £28 million facility for Inter MK to assist in funding the next phase of the development.
Travis Perkins Group site acquisitions
Stephen Kay's team of Aimee Barrable, Farrah Tejani and Salma Khan, have completed over 50 acquisitions of new branches for the Travis Perkins Group in the last 12 months. The team are also able to call upon the special expertise of both their Planning and their Construction colleagues when the need arises.
Cognita School report
Andrew Winfield, Lucy Risbridger and Marco Mauro have been working with the Corporate and Banking teams to purchase a number of schools for Cognita Schools Limited.
Nottingham Property Acquistition
Aimee Barrable and Simon Ingram have recently completed the acquisition and leaseback of a 2.5 acre site in Nottingham on behalf of a property investment company, a deal with several twists including the late addition of an option agreement over a further acre of development land!
New Community Infrastructure Levy
Giles Ferin is at the leading edge of developing the roof tariff scheme, which was piloted in Milton Keynes before being incorporated into the proposed new Community Infrastructure Levy. In particular, he and Marco Mauro negotiated arrangements for schemes at the Leisure Plaza (Central Milton Keynes), Wolverton and Blocklet E1.4 Phase 2 (Central Milton Keynes).
£100 Million Plus Development for Abbeygate Helical JV
David Danskin, Simon Ingram, Giles Ferin and Anna Stillman are working with the Abbeygate Helical joint venture on a £100 million plus development of the Blocklet scheme in Central Milton Keynes. The scheme will include a Sainsburys superstore, associated commercial space and 440 new apartments (branded Vizion MK), all of which were pre-sold to Barratt Homes and Paddington Churches Houses Association. The scheme is due for completion in 2009.
Grantmaster Mix Use Scheme
Grantmaster recently received Rob Goffman and Farrah Tejani’s advice in connection with its acquisition of a proposed multi-use site in St. Helens. The site includes retail, leisure (including a 25,000 sq ft bowling alley), a 64 bedroom hotel and housing.
Valois UK Limited
Wendy Hodrien has completed a lease in Milton Keynes for French packaging specialist, Valois UK Limited. The company have taken Cygna House, a new property being developed by Rok. Anna Stillman advised on the construction elements of the deal.
Bedford Town Centre Expansion
David Danskin is acting on behalf of Bedford Borough Council in connection with the development of two major mixed use schemes in Bedford Town Centre, at Riverside Square and Castle Lane. Both schemes involve the provision of more than 100 residential units and a variety of leisure uses.
Further Expansion for Fossil
Stephen Kay and Aimee Barrable are advising jewellery retailer, Fossil, on their current UK acquisition programme. The latest of which were stores in the Trafford Centre and the Birmingham Bull Ring.
Further House Development
Rob Goffman and David Danskin have recently worked with McCann Homes in relation to a mixed scheme at Caldecotte Lake, which includes 65 residential units. The team have also worked with Paul Newman New Homes in relation to the development of 200 homes at Upton, Northampton and McInerney Homes South Midlands for the acquisition, development and disposal of affordable housing developments.
New Houses for Buckinghamshire
Giles Ferin has been acting for Aylesbury Vale District Council in the negotiation and completion of a complex multi-party planning obligation agreement relating to 3000 dwellings, employment land, a district centre, public open space and other facilities in Buckinghamshire.
The Hub MK New Home for Institute of Chartered Accountants
Simon Ingram acted for Frontier Estates in the purchase, letting and sale of an existing building in Central Milton Keynes, aiding the relocation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants to Frontier’s flagship scheme, The Hub MK. The existing building is to be redeveloped as serviced offices for Executive Communications Centres.
Tom Tom Purchasae London Headquarters
Wendy Hodrien recently acted for navigation solution provider, TomTom Software Limited who acquired part of Euston Tower as their London headquarters.
Channelling expertise
Simon Ingram working alongside our Corporate and Banking teams, and with off-shore lawyers, in purchasing for Hotbed investors a number of property based investments in Guernsey and Jersey valued in aggregate at more than £100 million.
Also Simon Ingram recently acted for Hotbed in the purchase of an existing office building in the City of London, which included the purchase, funding and restructure of the letting to Standard Chartered Bank.
Offices at The Eye
Nigel Lynn Associates Limited successfully moved into their new Registered Office at The Eye in London after Aimee Barrable negotiated their lease. Aimee act's for Nigel Lynn on the property management of its premises across the country and advises on new leases of office premises.
The Planning Team's recent activities include: A public sector landowner, negotiating a planning obligation agreement and planning conditions for a mixed use development of a 23 hectare "green field" site. The development will include residential and employment units, open space and medical facilities. The team on CPO and logistical issues in respect of a Highways Agency strategic road improvement scheme in Bedfordshire.
Two landlords in connection with a planning obligation agreement for a proposed mixed use urban extension to provide 3200 dwellings with associated retail, leisure, open space, community facilities and transport etc in Oxfordshire.
