WHAT DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
MEANS TO US

 

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is more important than ever to all of us at EMW and to support this we have introduced a DE&I council where we promote, encourage and embrace a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment.

We believe, from our extensive experience, there is a wealth of evidence that a diverse and inclusive team can make healthier, bolder decisions, innovate faster, have greater success with recruitment, are more resilient and ultimately gain a competitive advantage. For us it’s not just common sense, it’s business sense.

DIVERSITY

Recognising, respecting, valuing and celebrating each other’s differences such as traits, characteristics, ethnicity, gender, age, race, religion, disability, neuro diversity and additional background factors all of which make us unique

Equity

Everyone is treated in a fair, equal and just way. A crucial part of equity is ensuring that every individual has what they need to succeed and opportunities to do so. However, this is not to say that you treat everyone in the exact same manner. Some groups or individuals may require supplementary treatment and support to ensure we are all on an even playing field.

Inclusion

Creating, encouraging and developing an environment where groups who may have been excluded are actively valued for their different perspectives. We should all feel welcomed and valued, allowing you to be yourself. An inclusive environment can only be created once we are all aware of barriers, prejudices and unconscious biases so that potential can be unleashed and everyone can be at the top of their respected games.
