EMW Partner to help shape regional family justice practice and contribute to national strategy.
EMW Law is delighted to announce that Karen Young, Partner and Head of Contentious Probate, has become a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
ACTAPS is a highly regarded professional association for lawyers and other professionals specialising in contentious trusts, estates and probate disputes. Full membership recognises significant expertise and experience in this complex and increasingly important area of law, with members expected to demonstrate a high level of specialist knowledge and commitment to best practice.
Karen’s admission as a full member reflects her extensive experience advising clients on a wide range of contentious probate matters, including challenges to wills, inheritance disputes, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, disputes involving executors and trustees, and issues concerning the administration of estates.
As disputes involving wills, trusts and estates continue to grow in complexity, specialist accreditation provides clients with additional confidence that they are receiving advice from a recognised expert with a deep understanding of both the legal and practical issues involved.
Daniel Wilson, Head of Individuals and Families at EMW Law, said:
“Karen’s acceptance as a full member of ACTAPS is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the depth of her expertise in contentious probate matters. ACTAPS membership is widely recognised as a mark of excellence within the profession, and Karen’s accreditation reflects both her technical knowledge and her commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for clients.
“Contentious trust and probate disputes often arise at emotionally challenging times for families. Karen combines exceptional legal expertise with a pragmatic and compassionate approach, and this recognition further reinforces EMW’s strength in providing specialist advice in this area.”
Commenting on her membership, Karen Young said:
“I am delighted to have been admitted as a full member of ACTAPS. The organisation plays an important role in promoting high standards and specialist knowledge within contentious trusts and probate work. I look forward to continuing to support clients through complex and sensitive disputes, while contributing to the wider ACTAPS community.”
Karen’s membership further strengthens EMW’s market-leading Individuals and Families team and underlines the firm’s commitment to providing clients with specialist expertise across all aspects of private wealth, trusts, estates and dispute resolution.
