EMW Attends Northamptonshire Wedding Fayre

by Jessica Irwin

26 October 2026

On Sunday 25 October, Jessica and Jeanette from EMW’s Individuals and Families team attended a wedding fayre hosted by The Wedding Oasis at Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to speak with couples about the importance of considering legal matters alongside wedding planning. Discussions focused on the benefits of making or updating a Will, as well as the protection that pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements can provide.

The team also highlighted the importance of cohabitation agreements for couples living together before marriage and addressed the common misconception that “common law marriage” exists. In England and Wales, unmarried couples do not have the same legal rights as married couples or civil partners, making it important to understand your legal position.

If you are planning a wedding and would like advice on Wills, pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements or cohabitation agreements, our Individuals and Families team would be happy to help.
