Hoping to be in your new home for Christmas?

Nobody likes to mention the ‘C’ word when it feels as though we’re just at the end of summer, but if you are hoping to move before Christmas, now is the time to put those plans in to action.

The Government currently reports that a home purchase takes around 120 days on average from an offer being accepted to completion.

Every transaction is different, and no conveyancer can guarantee a completion date. The length of the chain, searches, mortgage arrangements, surveys, enquiries and other parties in the transaction can all affect timescales.

You can help by instructing your conveyancer early, completing paperwork promptly and providing your ID and source of funds information without delay.

If Christmas is your target, don’t leave your conveyancing until the Christmas lights are going up.
